Nonprofit Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc. and Kaiser Foundation Hospitals on Aug. 4 reported net income of $1 billion on combined total operating revenue of $18.1 billion for the second quarter. As of June 30, Kaiser Permanente’s membership totaled approximately 11.7 million members, up by about 1.1 million members since Dec. 31, 2016. That includes membership from its acquisition of Seattle-based Group Health Cooperative in February. In the second quarter, Kaiser Permanente opened four medical office buildings and a hospital, bringing the total to 677 medical office buildings, plus 39 hospitals. See http://tinyurl.com/y84d6vt4.
